Thank  you for visiting my shop!  The pieces shown here are all original, one-of-a-kind, works of art, matted, framed and ready to hang. 

 

These are collages, made with hand painted paste paper.  The process for paste paper involves a cooked paste of wheat flour and water to which pigment is added.  This mixture is spread on the paper and manipulated with brushes, sponges, and other tools to create unique patterns and designs.  I typically create paste paper fifty sheets at a time, giving me an extensive palette of colors and textures to work with.  

 

Most of the pieces shown here are encaustics, a technique using melted beeswax to adhere the elements of the collage together.  The wax gives a piece a feeling of depth and also allows for the addition of pigment to areas.
